This is a on demand hot water heater. It has an ECO switch which is the reset button. I've replaced this button twice and I still have the same problem. You push it in and the igniter lites the burner that you can see thru the hole near the burner itself.. By the time I go thru all this motion to get hot water when I get back in my RV I turn on the faucet I have hot water for 2 to 5 minutes Then cold water again. I go back outside and sometimes the reset button needs to be reset and sometimes it don't need setting...........HELP HELP

If water temp is set to high, the switch will trip. Make sure to get air out of all line by running water from each location -facuets, shower, outside water before trying to use the unit. The slower the water passed thru the heater, the hotter the water. Faucet partly open to hot - hotter water. Faucet full open to hot, water not as hot because more water is flowing through the heater. I Hate my Atwood. Thinking about swapping it out but will cost in excess of $1000

And if the water flows slowly enough, it won't start the heater or keep it fired up. I have one in my stick house, and it took a while to get it dialed in. Rule one is no faucet flow restrictors allowed. Rule two is have ample, steady flow. I suspect that the water pumps used in TTs might be part of the problem. To me, there's no excuse for these things performing so poorly in RV applications. It's not like the technology is new.

Hot water doesn't need heating. It's just called a water heater.

There is a lot of information on problems with this heater. Do a google search on reviews and have a look to see if your model number is the same as what others are talking about. The reset problem is mentioned.
