That's a great suggestion! These mobile guys, as a group, are better at what they do than the service department of an RV dealer. Dealer Service Writer might impress you, but you don't know WHO they hired to actually do your work out back. Mobile Guy, in most cases is His Business, His Name on the Van, His Reputation. You're getting your work done by the Owner.
Wish you were closer. I've been known to drop by and help OP's with their projects. But... Nothing planned out your way.

Look up the base plate for your specific vehicle and read the Installation Instructions. Even if you don't do the install, you'll see how much or little is involved, what it'll look like when done, and help you decide if you should start looking for a drop adapter for your coach's hitch. They also have a difficulty rating and/or hours required to install.

Doing this "could" lead you to wanting a different brand of base plate than you started out with. Most tow bar manufacturers offer connections to other manufacturers' base plates.

I would have an RV place install the base plate they do hundreds of them. I found half the repair shops I went to they didn't have a clue what a base plate was let alone install properly.

I am REAL glad I chose an RV and/or RV dealership to install mine.
The parts book called for one part number base plate for my Tracker. Only thing was that one did not fit. The RV Shop KNEW that from past experience. And ordered the correct one which actually is for another make. I could have seen an auto repair shop banging away to make that wrong part fit.

AND they can also install the breakaway switch, diodes for the toad taillights and braking wires at the same time and done correctly all at the same time and out the door ready to tow.:C

There are several RV places in SA and up I-35 in New Branfuals (sp) area. Out I-10 West is Ancira and Ron Hoover plus more. Google them.
