brake controller installation

I am installing a brake controller on a 2014 Ford Flex. I haven't been able to locate the stop light wire under the dash. If anyone has any information on locating the wire it would be greatly appreciated.

Engine oil cooler or ATF cooler or both? Highly recommend more than just a "short ATF tube inside the radiator" level of ATF cooling.

Custom wiring a brake controller isn't that big a deal. I like to find where the TV harness plugs into the brake pedal switch itself and add another wire there rather than relying on a snap lock type device. But to each his own. There is certainly nothing mystical about a ready-made plug that makes a vehicle more "tow-worthy" than a similar vehicle that lacks it.

Go here, find a picture of the brake light switch, find the switch on the car, and find the wire going to it.

I am just looking for the brake light wire. I have already connected the other wires for the controller and the 7 pin trailer connector. Still need to add the oil cooler and I have the equivalent of the factory tow package.

if you don't have the factory tow package, it doesn't have the wiring for a brake controller.

i'm not aware of the controller working with just the stop light wire.
how will you deal with the 7-pin trailer connector?

no way would i use a Flex without the factory tow package, to tow anything, especially something that requires a brake controller.

I think he's just looking for the brake light wire. But I would agree with what you are saying.
