Can RV.net stop the spammers?

I subscribe to to the Truck Camper sub forum. For the past few months this section has been inundated with spammers posting a simple subject with a body filled with links to sites they are peddling.
With my subscription to the Truck Camper section I receive a notification in my email of all notifications of new posts. Lately about 80% of the posts are spam. I can tell this simply by the subject line and I delete the email right away.
The question I have for the tech support of RV.net is How do the spammers get stopped? I subscribe to other sites and never see this amount of spam.
I would like to give thanks and kudos to the moderators and IT people who battle this issue every day here on the forum. But is there some way to step it up a notch to stop these spammers in their tracks?

I've noticed the decrease. A few months ago, if I was up early on Saturday with little activity on the forum, the front page of active threads would be SPAM.

Great job!

You guys in the TC forum that think you're being targeted, it just aint true. When they post, its on all the sub forums randomly. Since I'm often up at 2AM+ PDT (like now)I can sit here and watch them come in, report all I see and they are usually scrubbed by the morning Mod crew before most even roll out of bed. I have however seen various changes lately and as Dick sez, seems to have made a difference.

Forum administrators have done several things to deal with the spam problem. We still get a few but nothing like the past few months. Often the ones that do get through are gone before members even see them.

I would try unsubscribe, from the new post notifications. See if you notice less spam. Spammers, really take the fun out of things. Thank you to the moderators who work so hard to keep it to a minimum.

Being in Hawaii I love SPAM

I fry it, and with Mayo, tomato, and lettuce it makes a tasty sandwich.

Over here even McDonalds has SPAM on their menu

Cholesterol is a bit elevated though ??

There must have been a change in creating accounts or the spammers just stopped targeting the truck camper forum as i see no more spam posts coming through to that section. Kudos to those that keep this site going!

These were the subjects of 7 spam posts this early morning to the TC forum....
Sealing the inner faith
Top 50 Smartphone List
tv series with Gionee P2S white
Plantation makes environment Globally clean
Quantum Mechanics Integers values
Top 10 Tranding TV Shows List Updated

They all get deleted within a minut or so by the moderators. This is why many do not see the spam.

Knock on wood, but I've never seen any spam on here or on Irv2. Now, if you want to see spam, I used to be on several different Yahoo forums and will never go there again. That place is spam and scam city.

I'm sure RV.net is favored with spam because it has a huge membership? But I'll offer kudos to the moderators because I seldom see spam posts. They apparently kill those pretty quickly!

They are referring to spam posts not pop ups. They are just click bait posts to drive traffic to other sites for a variety of reasons.

The spam posts do not stay too long as they get deleted. It is and will remain a problem in any site that offers registration and comments.
