Condensation on bath skylight bubble???

We saw a drip coming from the inner skylight bubble in the bathroom. Then, we removed that inner skylight and some water dripped out. There is condensation on the outer bubble but inside (of course). We had some rain yesterday. It doesn't appear to be coming in from outside at all. Hubby checked seals in September and feels they are good.

Should we put some silicone or putty tape/bedding compound along edges of inner bubble and seal it up? We are on our sixth working snowbird season in florida and have never had this happen before.

There doesn't appear to be water coming in from anywhere.
The past few morning have been heavy condensation mornings and we have dried out the unit (while using it).

We are letting it dry out thoroughly with the inner bubble off.

Oh, and MOSTLY we don't use the shower and have not this year yet.

A hailstone cracked my outer bubble. Can't afford a new bubble so I attempted various goo's and sealants. Nothing worked. I came across some Eternabond tape. Only that seemed to really seal up the crack.

Might as well start with that and save yourself the trouble.

That's my story, anyway.

Thanks so much. Hubby will do a temp fix for now (perhaps lots of goo/silicon or something from camping world) and then redo the whole
shebang when we get home.

yeh, unfortunately you have a leak in the top half. It happens.

Be careful about what caulking you use. The plastic they make them from can react to a lot of different sealants. Mine actually cracked halfway up the dome by the following day.

The leak will eventually find a way into the roofing wood, so dont let it go too long.

You have a leak. I had same problem. Went on roof and looked and looked around skylight and could not eyeball where water "might" becoming from. Finally got some metal tape and taped all around. No more water. This is not a permanent fix. As others have said, take off the outer bubble (check for cracks), clean area thoroughly, and reinstall. Might be time for a new bubble.

Had the same type problem with our skylight. Found a small leak on edge, removed entire thing and cleaned and resealed the whole thing. Later problem returned. Skylight dome had small cracks around edge and screw holes. Replaced with new dome, problem has not recurred,(yet).

Same as Jerry, removed both halves, re installed and resealed.

I had my whole skylight removed, cleaned and reinstalled.. No more problem.

I tried resealing the outside twice but not fixed until totally removed.
