As the one who you did direct your tirade at permit me to point out that the only timeI I used the word "obnoxious" in any of my posts was:
"Yes, folks with a red or blue can be just as obnoxious (excessive running and quiet time violations), as the folks running the yellows but that is not about generators as much as it is about being less than considerate."
Wow, was that spiteful or what???
Generator selection comes down to how and where you are going to use it, not to mention pay for it. Since folks often actually come here to learn things differing opinions will always have value. The $300 Champion may be perfect for someone's use but it will never be the equal of a $1,000 generator. If it were there would be nothing but Champions and Honda, Yamaha etc., would be out of the generator business which clearly is not the case.
My Computer, TV and C-Pap machine (along with lots of other appliances and electronics), all warn against the use of anything less than the clean power provided by quality inverter generators. They also warn against using non sine wave inverters but that would/could be a whole new thread.
Once again I will point out:
As always Opinions and YMMV.

I'd like to respectfully disagree with your follow-on posts.
When you open up a multi-day old thread with a line like this and then proceed to use an "only at home, in a real emergency, away from anyone who can hear" example, it took this particular discussion into half-again as many pages that were worthless to the original post.
I sincerely hope you can see my point.
Best regards,

So why is louder and red so much more acceptable? Why aren't the people using the twin reds not being jumped on for not using the quieter EU3000is? I guess expensive noise is just more acceptable. Maybe having your nose in the air changes the angle of the ears and that makes it quieter. lol
The 3000 won't run what 2 2ks will. Expensive noise is slightly less annoying at full throttle, and when the a/c is off, we know we're going to get much quieter than the open-frames running full bore all the time. It's really not very common to see inverter gens running at full throttle for very long. I won't comment on the nose in the air.
It's good for me if I do my best to avoid being within earshot of any open-frames because complaining is going to get me nowhere. I'll try to be happy for them that they saved a few hundred dollars.

This Is Pure B.S.
and has been proven wrong too many times to count
are they louder than a honda 2000i charging batteries ? yes
are they louder than (2) synced 2000i's running an A/C unit ? ..not enough to matter
the Honda Holy grail crowd needs to get their collective heads out of the honda cool aid glass and listen to the real world

The Champs are unreliable? New one on me. I see more "my Honda wont start" threads than issues with Champions.
The Champion will fry the electronics? Actually there is a scope of one of the Champion 3500/4000 120v only units in the 3000w generator thread. It is cleaner/ smoother than you would expect. Much cleaner than the inverter generator that HF sells. The dual voltage units do have a ugly wave.
I will say that after spending the money I didn't waste on the big red generator on a solar system and batteries, that it is funny to watch someone with a generator thump their chest because their noise maker is slightly less annoying than the next one.
I see people say that they would be knocking on doors if their neighbor uses something louder than they have. So what happens when a person with solar comes knocking on your door? Gee dude, I don't care what color it is, it's time to shut her down. We'd like some peace and quiet, not peace and quieter.
The problem with jumping on a soap box is there is always someone with a bigger one. There plenty of people that can go a week on battery alone or have solar. To them any generator is annoying.

The many issues have been addressed and I have yet to see any reasonable objections to them being used while boon docking or for emergency power during natural catastrophes. Bang for the buck they work quite well in those applications.
The problems arise when folks trying to justify their use in campgrounds influence others who don't know any better.
:C
And I don't recall anyone advocating for using them in a campground with others around. The question was using it in non-campground settings. I think everyone understands your thoughts and feelings on the Champion generators. Your point has been made.
Can we allow this thread to get back on topic now please?
