Gauges for Propane Cylinders

I would like to put gas gauges on my 30 bottles. I looked at some on the internet and they all seem to say that they are good for 10 to 40 lb cylinders.
How can different size cylinders use the same gauge? Are they simply measuring gas pressure?
On a scale of 1 to 10, how accurate would you rate these $16 - $20 gauges?

i used to have those temp sensitive strips on the side of portable tanks, when i used them

All you have to do is pour some warm water over the side of the tank then simply touch the tank and run your hand down the side. Where there is no propane, the metal will be warmer, where there is propane, it will be cold. You can tell exactly how much is left in the tank. This works for upright propane tanks of any size, and horizontal tanks as well. Simple, completely safe, and cost nothing but some warm water.

There are float type gauges for propane tanks. The cylinder seems to of different design, with an extra port near the top for the gauge.

Might only work on larger cylinders and tanks?
