Going to try my Dual-Cam out again...

I started with dual friction bars, then went with Dual-Cam (the first generation). It destroyed my hitch at the time. In Hind sight, I used a worn out Husky hitch and added on the Dual Cam adaptors to my hitch.

I now have a proper trunnion bar hitch with the crooks on it. I didn't install the DC after I bought this hitch and just went back with the standard Dual Friction Bars. I think I am going to try to run my DC sway control again and give it a fair shot with the new hitch.

The new hitch head has a built in rise to the hitch head, I am not sure if I need to use my one inch rise ball or not. We will see once I get it together. If I do I will have to buy a new drop shank as mine is already on the bottom hole in the drop position.

I think that the friction bars do a fine job with what they are designed to do. I do think that the DC simplifies the hitching process a little.

Wish me luck.

Thanks!

Mine worked great and I had no problem. Only reason I changed was due to the great deal I found on my Hensley.

My old EZ Lift/Dual cam setup is happily living it's second life with a good friend's parents and their new Starcraft TT. I helped him set it up and it has had nary a wiggle.

I like my DC but it's big downfall IMO is the lack of head tilt. At least in the round bar version. It has that 6 sided washer that only nets you about 5-6 degrees of tilt. I ended up using a 2" rise ball to get it where I wanted. That and shimming the shank to receiver slop, which eats up about 2 degrees. Actually the 2" rise ball is only about 1.5" higher than a standard ball. But it did the trick. Another key is adjusting the cams. Leaving the nuts loose and making left and right turns and straight driving for 150 feet or so and then tightening the lock nuts. Something my dealer failed to do. They're great once you get them right!
