Gotta have recliners and TV

There are campers and glampers. DW and I are glampers about 80 days a year. But since we camp almost year round it is often too hot or cold and the campgrounds are near empty. I hate to say it but at times it got boring. We missed our LazyBoy recliners and TV at home. We found the dinette uncomfortable and a total waste of space. So I ripped the dinette out and installed two slim wall-hugger recliners from Wayfair. All in 4 hours. And gave the parts to a friend with a rickety dinette. The cheapo recliners turned out to be well made and very comfortable. Adding a 24" long x 12" drink table between the recliners fit with space left over. This arrangement does not interfere with the jack sofa or swiveling cab seats so we can sit 5 guests. Hung a 20" flat screen from the upper cabinet on the opposite wall which doesn't cover up much of the window. At 6 feet away it looks like a big screen. We now have the most comfortable TV room ever. It really opened up the area and seems twice as big. I added external speakers and a Micca Speck USB flash drive movie player. I cut the cable a year ago at the SB so all my TV is from Directv Now streaming internet to an old laptop connected to a big screen TV. Saves me $1200/year with better TV. All my TV and movies are recorded on the laptop. I transfer what we want to watch to a USB flash drive. Then watch the flash drive in the RV. I've made a lot of other mods but this turned the RV into a 2nd home.

We did similar but got rid of the two tiny swivel chairs and picked up a dual recliner off craigs list

We have a 24" and no it's not like a big screen.

I'll have to report back because we just ordered a LCD projector. There is a big picture window directly across from the recliners. The screen will go in front of that when watching and stow when not. We plan to mostly use it for movies in the evening. Should be around a 50-60" equivalent.

The wife and I were full timers for 2 years and for the past 5 years we typically travel 3-4 months each year. I have yet to see if the TV works. I only put up the antenna a couple of times and that was to clean under it.

I carried zero gravity chairs for the first 3 or 4 years. They were more of a nuisance than enjoyable. I now just carry a couple light weight folding chairs.

No doubt about it. We all have different activities and reasons for camping.

Basically did the same in our 5er. Put a 40" tv, sound bar with wireless sub, new recliners from Besthomefurnishings, took out the booth and put in a free standing table and two chairs. Have an XM docking station and a Winegaurd X2.
Still have two bikes and two kayaks we take when possible.
AT 65 and 62 we've slowed down a bit but still would rather be outside than inside. When it's inside time we have it as nice as we do at home.
FWIW we dry camp most of the time. This year will be the most non dry camping we've done in 7 years. Not because of needing to full hookup, but because of our destinations.
Call it glamping if you want, I'll call it comfortable. ๐Ÿ™‚
Ironically we rented two movies to take with us for 4 nights over Memorial Day. Weather was supposed to be crudy for half of the time. Turned out nicer than predicted. Only watched one of the movies. Tried 3 times to watch the other one, but because it was nicer out we spent more time out riding the bikes. When it came time to resume the movie we only made it about 30 mins and fell asleep. Sucks getting old.
