I usually find something else I would rather have for the $100 or $200, but to each his own. I was just making a comment on something that just sounded weird to me. I buy recondidtioned parts for my car (like a water pump) because they wear out and a recon is cheaper than a new. It just seems odd that there would be such a thing as a reconditioned electric jacks. I would expect to buy one and it last forever, or it wasn't worth a hoot to begin with.
That is a good point. What jack do you have and how long have you had it. Thanks

No, but you can purchase an UltraFab 3500 factory reconditioned jack for about $100 on e bay with a factory warranty and the company stands behind their product as good as any other long after the warranty expires.

My neighbor bought the HF unit a couple of years ago. Works great so far. I bought the ultra fab unit refurbished. It also is great.

I don't have the Harbor Freight tongue jack, but I second the comment about UltraFab and eBay. I bought one about a year ago, and it works like a champ. It was right at $100, shipped to my door!
A quick search on eBay shows the following:
4,000 pounder - $114.79 (LINK)
3,500 pounder - $138.99 (LINK)
3,000 pounder - $108.95 (LINK)
If it were me, I'd buy the first one - the Ultra 4,000 - instead of running the risk with Harbor Freight.

Does anyone have any experience with the electric tongue jack sold at Harbor Freight? It seems like such a cheap price so I wonder about the quality. Thanks

Only thing that ever failed was the gun cleaner and they replaced the whole unit free. I have never had problems other than that one and we are hard on tools.rhagfo wrote:
I use Harbor Freight for tools that I may need once or a couple times. Their hydraulic jacks are no better or worse than others, not sure about the tongue jack, worst that could happen is would quit working.
x2. I will not buy anything from HF that is powered or has moving parts that I want to use more than once. Their handtools/wrenches/screwdrivers are good enough to put in the truck tool box or to put together a tool box for occasional use.
