How to meet RV buddies?

My parents are in the process of buying their first RV (excluding the pop up we had for about 4 years when I was a kid). It will be a Class C. My mom in particular would really like to find some friends to go camping with.

Where do your RV buddies come from? I suggested rallies or the North Texas RV yahoo group (they live in Dallas). I've been lucky enough to buddy up with fellow RV-ers through word of mouth, but I'm just wondering how else people make RV friends?

Meeting people in the RV lifestyle is the easiest thing in the world, most everyone is very friendly and easy to talk to.
That is the least of your problems,

Our coach came with a community. So did the Cayo we had before this. Start by looking up friends and neighbors that have RVs.
Then, look for an owner's group for support.
Then, if it qualifies, join FMCA that will get them going in fine style.
FMCA rallies are expensive, but that is because there is a lot there.

Summary, Go camping and get to rallies....
If they have the capability, they can print "Coach Cards" with contact information. This is a great way to have people you meet keep contact.

The only Good Sam club I ever contacted to join as a member in Ohio was a bummer. My reply was, "even though we were seniors, we should expect to babysit" WRONG!!

About all you have to do to meet fellow RVers is pull into a campsite. It seems like there's
always at least one well-meaning fellow who wants to make your acquaintance (and/or help
you park your rig "better") before you even get hooked up to electric.

Aside from that one annoying guy, your parents are going to meet dozens of RVers everywhere
they go. All they have to do it sit outside and say "hi" to folks passing by. Instant friends -just
add water or other beverage of their choice.
G-half can always find a way to do things upside-down, inside-out or backward.

Check the Good Sam web site for the Good Sam Chapter nearest them. We joined the local chapter and we enjoy the monthly camp-outs with them. We pay $20 a year.

Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.
