We had to stop using a CB once the kids were old enough to understand what the truckers were saying. Now we rely on Google Maps and Waze. When using Waze, it warns of traffic issues before getting there so we can plan an alternate route.

I use the inrix traffic app. I believe they are the data source for even waze. i know I reported a backup to inrix, and two minutes later it showed up on my garmin GPS.

Whether Waze or Inrix, use the report feature. If nobody reports it, nobody will know about it. Not sure if Waze and Inrix share data.

I'm glad there were no serious injuries. And, this is why I like traveling in a self contained unit.
When you are stuck in traffic, you can sit it out and chill. :C

Two weeks ago,we went upstate Pa. I-81 around Pine Grove was one lane both ways for construction. South bound was a minor 2 car accident.Traffic was backed up 15 miles. Not one state police officer anywhere. Luckily,we were north bound. It was slow but moving. We were on 3 interstates, I-78,I-81 and I-80.Not one state cop anywhere. When we came home Tuesday, they decided to have a truck check at the only rest area around and there was no way anyone but a truck could use the rest area.

THIS is why I have a CB.. Had two serious accidents close I-75 in front of me a few years back.. also in front of me was an Exit, Turn right at the top of the ramp for a truck stop, left for a Wal Mart.. I had a nice restful night.. Folks behind me.. Traffic jam.

Oh and interesting that he news service admits to violation of federal law right in the news article (no.. I'm not telling which one). Shows how good they are.

"no serious injuries" thankfully, but always sad to see a fellow RV'er in a situation like that.
