I have another question for the elctrical gurus.

I have a Wen 2000 watt generator. ( bought it to find out, it won't run my a/c by about.2 amps).
It does not have a 30 amp receptacle, but is parallel ready.
They don't seem to sell any other version of the 2000 watt, all are parallel ready, with no bigger receptacle.
I'm guessing it may be a 20 amp rated receptacle, and paralleling would get me 20 amps, instead of 13?
If I hook two "parallel ready" generators together, and neither has a 30 amp receptacle, what does my paralleling accomplish?
Is there an adapter, where you can use two separate power sources, and add the amperage?
Like plugging in to two generators, or two separate 15 amp circuits on a S&B, and getting 120 volts at 30 amp.
I'm surprised, I've been reading this forum regularly for over 4 years, and don't remember this question being discussed.
That alone tells me, it may be a NO, don't ever try that.
Thanks for the help.
Hopefully it saves someone else from posting.
TIA again.

No need according to those who have purchased this Micro-Air Easy Start Soft Starter Kit and installed it on their 13,500 BTU A/C. Had I known at the time I owned my last EU2000i I would have kept the genset and invested in one of these kits - not inexpensive but IMO a much better solution than buying and having to fool around with a second genset just because you'd like to run A/C a "few times a year".

You guys are GOOD. Great info, in a surprisingly short time, complete with links.
I was considering buying a second 1600 watt continuous, 2000 watt surge to do the job, the few times a year I would need it.
I found that there wasn't a different gen set to do the job, but didn't find the connection kit and pics.
Thanks again.
I'll try to come up with something harder next time. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

There is a parallel kit for connecting two together. Has a 30 amp outlet.

I would guess that generator's surge rating is 2,000 watts. It will likely only supply maybe 1,600 continuously. A 20A receptacle has one of the blades turned sideways. If you have this then you should be able to draw 20A x 120v = 2,400 watts from that outlet. This would likely run your AC if nothing much else was on at the same time.
As for making a cord to plug into both outlets? It could be done but it would be extremely dangerous. You would essentially have two male plugs connected in parallel. This would make it very easy to have live prongs if one of them came out or wasn't plugged in at all while the other was.
I do not recommend making such a cord.
