Just got my 6 mo. renewal! Up ANOTHER $50.00. $800.00 for a pickup and the MH. No tickets or accidents in over 30 year. Drive each less than 5000 miles per year. FICO is over 800. National General has lost a customer of over 25 year. Going shopping.

Are you talking $1600 for a year ? My MH is $884 for a year. Our old 2003 Trail Blazer is about $1240 a year, while a 2007 Taurus is $1052 a year.

Keep in mind that rates will vary from state to state so while State Farm (or any other insurer) may be a great deal in NY, it may not be in OR.

USAA no longer writes coverage for RVs (maybe just Class A?) and instead refers one to Progressive for a not-so-good deal.

Progressive was the least expensive I could find for our RV. It was one third the price our longtime insurance carrier (sounds like Allcake) wanted us to Pay.

There's a couple of others a lot of RVers are happy with and get good prices from.... I can't remember the names but they aren't the big carriers. Read through the entries at www.rv-dreams.com he has done a lot of research for RV insurance providers and chose one of these.

Our daughter's FIL was an independent insurance adjuster. I asked what company was the best to deal with for a claim & he replied "State Farm." I may pay a few $$$$ more but it's worth the piece of mind.

and since not everyone is elegible for USAA auto insurance and if you're not fulltiming be sure to check State Farm. we've been SF customers forever and like the rates and service.
