Leaf spring angle / geometry with adjustable hangers

My 5er has adjustable hangers. All the hardware sits in the top most holes. I want to install a new equalizer between the axles like the ex flex but am not sure if moving from the top hole to the bottom hole on center hanger will adversely affect anything with the geometry or spring angle. My concern is there will not be enough clearance for the ez flex using the top hole. One of my hangers is bent which prevents me from lowering all the bolts. My other idea was to just cut off the bottom of the hanger if need be.

Is there any particular geometry needed on axles or can the springs be angled any way desired? Thanks!!

It will change the caster for the axle , may not be very much, but it does change it and may have an adverse affect on tire wear.

That short distance is not much. It will not cause any adverse problems. True the axles are arc'd for positive camber, but it would take quite a bit of lift to change that, I'm talking several inches. If you just use the lower hole on the center hanger everything will still be fine.

BTW, it would be very easy to bend that bent hanger back out!

I often wondered that myself. Not knowing the answer to your question and if no one replies that really does knows, I would go with your alternate plan.

My other idea was to just cut off the bottom of the hanger if need be.
