New Hitch Ball

The chrome, or whatever the finish is, is worn off the front side of my 2" hitch ball. Should I turn the ball 180 degrees, replace it, or don't worry about it?

Lowe's sells stainless steel hitch balls. They are pricey, but probably the best way to go. 2", I" shank, 6000lb. capacity, $17.95

I'd rotate the ball so both sides wear evenly, but so long as coupler fit is still snug I wouldn't replace yet. (Some couplers can be adjusted if it feels a little loose).

As advised above, do grease regularly like any other joint....not just ball but coupler benefits from this treatment.

I don't think you need to worry about it. Lubing the ball with some of this stuff will help:
