New Mini Coming!

Mini has announced the third generation Cooper to be available in March. Of course, I already have one on order. 😉

Specs are impressive! Cooper gets 52 mpg, Cooper S gets 41 mpg and Cooper D is 67 mpg! These figures are from a UK site. For comparison, my Clubman gets around 40 mpg overall and my first generation MCS (the one with a supercharger) gets 27 mpg.

I posted a series of pictures showing installation of a Roadmaster baseplate on my 2008 Clubman, look for pictures of making my new Mini towable in the spring.

Edited to correct a typo in the conversion site I used.

But enough about the Mini as "Toad"...How about showing off some MUSCLE?

This here combo is about the closest thing to perfect as a small-tower like me could dream of!

They always remind me of this "Fawlty Towers" moment!:B

I don't think there's anything negative about folks' confusion about the mileage figures....are we sure that WNY Pat's post below is wrong?

I ask because that language about difference in volume appears in many other places related to fuel economy including this one

Francesca, Pat is talking about the "race" staged by the London Times between a BMW diesel and a Prius, where the beemer won. It doesn't matter how the gallons were measured because both vehicles were using the same measurement. You could measure the fuel as quarts per furlong and as long as both vehicles were measured the same it wouldn't matter.

As for the mileage for the new Mini, I did the conversion from liters per 100 kilometers into US mpg. Liters are the same everywhere, so imperial gallons don't enter into the equation.

Yes, I love Miatas too. If my cute hubby wasn't so tall, I would have had one about 15 years ago. I don't expect everyone here to be as much of a miniac as I am though.

LOL! I test drove a Mini Cooper convertible a couple of years back. LOVED it, but they wouldn't give me fair value for my trade-in. Ended up with my current Miata, which is super fun to drive as well, but with a bit less room.....

Doesn't matter how you measure it, the diesel still beat the hybrid, and in comfort. 😉
