Might as well it's winter and I'm bored :B. So we already have the barking dog thread. Let's get it out of our system. Did I miss any? What gets your goat?

Well, I am afraid I dont hear much of anything inside my RVan. I have the overhead heater or AC going/blowing. I have ear noises and drown them out at home with the TV on low so that is how I get to sleep in the RVan. It also drowns out the sounds the dogs may make as they chase flies in their sleep (little dogs, little prey). Rainstorms and lightning put me to sleep, the sound of people yakking/laughing reminds me of being a kid snuggled up and falling asleep under the pile of coats while out at parents parties while people were murmuring in another room. OTOH, sometimes for no reason at all I stay awake all night to greet the dawn and being retired have the luxury of napping to make up.

Actually, this is really a problem for some... no not the spouse snoring, people snoring when sleeping in tents and pop-up campers. Actually, I think it's kind of funny to hear BOTH of them snoring. Tent walls are not very thick you know.

In the past, I've gotten out of bed to go to the campground facilities. When walking down the road passing some of the tent and pop-up campers, it's actually hilarious to hear people snoring. I suppose this is better than a dog barking. At least, once you get about 50 or 100 feet away from the tent you can't hear them any more! :B

Once we had a family a tenters beside us. The pitched a small 4 man pup tent RIGHT under our bedroom window. Well, the parents were sound asleep .. snoring ... and the 3 boys in that tent played and laughed and wrestled, and jumped around and giggled all night long. Tent walls are very thin.

Funny though, next morning, the kids had been up all night long. And their first day of camping was the day from He** for them. They were so crabby and grouchy, but the parents would not let them nap. You guessed it, they were OUT by 7:00 pm! All of them! And never heard another sound the second night.... except the parents snoring!

Were the kids annoying? Yes they were. BUT, I realize they were kids, excited, and having a ton of fun. I remember (vaguely) being a kid also and the many nights I stayed up all night under similar circumstances! Did "I" sleep good that night ... no. Actually, we ended up closing the windows, and turned the air-conditioner fan on to circulate air. The noise drowned out the kids playing most of the time. Still, it was an uneasy night for us.

Did I live through it ... yes. Did I complain ... no. Did I sit back and laugh at those parents dealing with their tired and worn out kids the next day .... ABSOLUTELY!

Thousands of camping nights in hundreds of different CGs across all of the states & most provinces & only one instance of nuisance kids comes to mind.

As luck would have it this came at the end of a very long frustrating day which involved being stranded beside a busy highway for hours waiting for a tow.

We have camped for over 30 years and have had very few issues with others. Unsupervised kids worry me... occupational hazard. I do hate it when it is so loud that I can't sleep - oh wait, that is almost always DH snoring. I guess the poster did not mean that kind of noise. Fortunately I am pretty sure he is not loud enough to be heard at other campsites.

Inexpensive and simple foam ear plugs can cure many auditory woes, both in and outside your rig. Or even at home: in the winter I sleep blissfully through the banging of a noisy heating system...

X2 Until you have tried them you have no idea just how good music can sound. I have a second option, ironically because of my severe hear loss. My hearing aides have Bluetooth capability so I just stream music from my i Phone directly into the hearing aides. No one else can hear the music and I can still hear a little of what is going on around me (unlike with the Bose).

If you know anyone who is shopping for hearing aides urge them to get the Bluetooth capability. I also have a small transmitter that plugs into the TV/DVD player and broadcasts the audio directly into the hearing aides. My bride can control the volume in the room while I have my own control through the aides.

If you change your settings under My Preferences (Posts per page), you can change it from 10 to 20 posts per page. Then you will only have 5 pages of rants instead of 10! For some reason, 5 pages of rants about fellow campers just sounds a little nicer than 10 pages! (is this another rant?)

Well, I was planning on avoiding this post, but with 10 pages, it's hard. The things that bother me the most about camping are, paying the taxes on the MH, paying the Insurance on the MH, filling the 100 gal. tank on the MH, driving down the hwy's and putting up with the rude driver's cutting you off, paying the high fee's at campgrounds, and about 100 other things that come to mind. GUESS I JUST DON'T ENJOY CAMPING ANYMORE. 😞

Biggest thing that bothers me by far...........when it is time to pack up to go home....other than that don't care.... 🙂
