I drive a 1999 rexhall rexair 34' foot motorhome plugged into 50 amp shore. The problem started with the gfi switch in the bathroom tripping.it happened twice over 2 weeks and I just "reset" it... the third time however it would not reset at all. I figured the gfi was faulty so I replaced it. Afterwords I realized that I wasn't receiving any power to the gfi.. after testing the circuit breakers I didn't have power to half of them. ( exactly every other one if that makes a difference) I switched a couple breakers around to see if that was the issue and it's not all the breakers work if they are in these positions..... back appliance plugs, rear ac, or microwave. I'm stumped.... I also cannot get my generator to start.

Thank you all so much for your time it's been a big help

You can certainly ask them, and they may accept responsibility. I know they are expensive, but you might consider investing in an Electrical Management System which would have protected your electronics from being damaged and told you what the problem was. A TV isn't too expensive to replace, but if it had been your AC, it would have been a different story.

I use this EMS for my 50 amp protection:

Nice so that is basically just a huge surge protector you plug into pedestals before you plug in your rig?

Much more than a "surge protector". It will catch over/under volgage, over/under frequency, bad grounds and wiring. If the condition exceeds certain thresholds, it will shut down the electricity before you fry something.

X2 - so much more than a surge protector. First thing we bought after buying the motorhome. You may find that the blown TV is just the first of your problems from this incident. Bad power can shorten the life span of any thing that runs on electricity.

EMS is an Energy Management System.
You are talking surge protectors. Some people call them Electrical Management System

Their receptacle, not plug.

Odds are you signed a form absolving them of all responsibility but they might help you out. stay calm, businesslike, and don't have an attitude when you ask.

The park must have an electrician, get some one from the park to come down and check out the power pedestal.

Check your inverter for a tripped circuit breaker.

Could be the pedestal receptacle, the power cord, or inside the breaker box. Start testing at the pedestal receptacle.

It was the pedestal because I switched to a different 30 amp plug and all the circuits have power. Now my gfi still won't reset though.

I also forgot to mention that my television fried even though it was surge protected on the front plugs. Could this mean I have a legitimate ground fault??? It all seems weird because we haven't even moved the rv.

So I plugged into my neighboring 30 amp post because no one is there. I have 120 volts on every circuit . (So I'm assuming it is the plugs fault not my rigs???) the gfi light is green but it won't reset so I can't test the plugs but now both ac units are working.

Also flip the breaker in the park's panel off and on a few times. Those can get intermittent when they get older. I would even flip the main in your panel off and on a few times. I've had tripped breakers on occasion that did not look tripped.
