Lowes again has Zamp inverters that they are blowing out. In the past I've bought an 800W & 1KW and they work great.

While at Lowes I found a stack of 300W PSW on sale for $37.28 (Normal $149.13)
DRP 300W Pure Sinewave Inverter

THIS was just posted on another thread about inverters.
Mine acted the same, but I replaced the inverter not only because it drove the MW nuts, but it was burning up other things like a heating pad, small back massager, and a couple of other things. I had had enough

The mw will work on msw, it just makes less power, than when it has psw power input, warming up a cup of water or coffee takes longer, but it's also easier on the batteries, because it draws less inverter power, less amps from the battery for a longer period

Makes sense... I will mostly be using the inverter to run a t.v. (The law requires me to shut down for 10 hours at a time..I don't sleep that long). Just thought I might like some popcorn or leftover meatloaf. Not going to be cooking meals...ok, maybe an egg or potato.

My old 12v t.v. broke, and the truck is wired for inverter. Figure its time to upgrade my lifestyle.

If that little egg thingy my wife uses in the micro takes 5 min instead of 3...so be it. Beats a 5 min walk across the lot to spend $5.00 on a soggy egg-muffin out if the convenient warmer.

I'm ok with that

It's easier on my batteries
I can explain it to you.

Question for you electronic smarty-pants (or just the off-grid know-it-all).

Is the problem with microwaves on a Modified-sine an issue of the motor (whatever makes a microwave heat-up), or all the electronic gadgets built into modern microwaves.

I guess what I am asking....if I buy a cheap microwave with a rotary timer (they still sell them), no clock, etc... will it be more likely to run on a modified sine inverter...or do I really need to spend the money on a pure-sine????????

I was really looking at the 2000w for $135.00, so I asked the on-line "helper" to locate me one...ROAD TRIP. Unavailable in my state (Pennsylvania).

Bummer....that was a good deal on a 2000w PURE sine. Guess I'll have to buy a CEN-TECH, MODIFIED Sine, from Harbor freight for $139.00 I am NOT willing to spend the big bucks just to run a t.v. and maybe a small microwave in the SEMI....we usually camp full hook-up.

Picked up 2 of the 300 watt for $37 and 1 of the 600 watt for $49. All 7 miles from my campground in Prescott AZ that I left today.
Thx to the OP for the info. Giving 2 as gifts.

Good info Jeff, sounds like a great value on a well made inverter. Gonna check with my local store and see if they have any left.

Yes it has a fan that turns on at 100w. Can you hear it?, of course, it's a fan. Is it a hurricane? No. With a constant 150w load it's stone cold, so if it bothers me I might look at how to change the load switch for the fan, but I think in a cabinet it will do fine.. For those commenting about build quality never having seen it, as I said, it built like a GoPower, so not bad. The normal store price is $150, not $40. It has a soft start and can surprisingly light a 300w lamp. The inverter doesn't care and handles it fine. My 12v power supply hates it tho. This is a clearance sale, that's the reason for the price. For those looking online, obviously that doesn't work as has been proven several times on this thread. Pick up the phone with the stock number and ask. My local store has a stack of them, I'm sure many more do as well

I would only assume it has a fan. Otherwise it would need an external sink.

Yes it can. And yes, heat is the enemy. It's not the only reason they're cheap, however.

The surge capability would be another way they can cut costs, along with every other part they possibly can. I'm not saying it won't work out of the box, it's that really long period after it comes out of the box I'd be concerned about.

Great buy. Of course. Great product? Probably not so much.

Holy moley, they also have a 2000W PSW for $135. That is a real savings if these are durable. I'd assume they are similar to most of the usual brands.

Moot point for me....none in stock, not available for ship to store. Shame, I was looking for a new inverter for the Peterbilt.

Curious for you EXPERTS. It mentions "cooling" as "open ventilated". Since it does NOT mention a continous fan/or temp controlled fan...just vented.... can it be ASSUMED there is no cooling fan.

ISN'T HEAT THE NUMBER ONE CAUSE OF DEATH FOR AN INVERTER??? Can this be why they are inexpensive? You can barely by a modified 2000w for this price..pure is triple this cost.

You will have much better luck with a standard 120v tv.

It would be a great deal but alas can not find any where they are available or they can be shipped. Even checked surrounding states to no avail. Oh well, our Samlex PSW is still working fine lo these many years and will have to suffice. I thought I would replace our secondary whole house inverter with this awesome deal, hope somebody is able to take advantage of it.
