Purchasing Used Bounder Questions

We're considering a used 2010 Fleetwood Bounder 33U from a private party who is the original owner but has health problems now. It has about 11,000 miles on it and appears to be in good shape with new tires. Based on my check of NADA, the price appears to be very good. We would have it checked out thoroughly if we proceed, but it appears to be well maintained on an inside/outside visual inspecction, haven't driven it yet. I'm a previous RV owner, but 29' C Class. The RV (and us) are in the mid-atlantic but it was bought and primarily used down south.

Does anyone have concerns about this model and things like the full wall slideout? Are owners of these happy and how have they held up, being V10 gas? Should we barter for or buy a warranty since it's out of the mfg warranty? Which are worthwhile? Someone mentioned XtraRide.

Thanks in advance for any help.

X2 Not too much. That's only about 6 or 7 hours a month, and yes if he had passengers in the back while traveling he may have used it for A/C, or could have used it boondocking a few times.
I looked at your floorplan and you should be able to use the RV even if the slide is in, it will just be tight. Most motorhomes are like this. Trailers have a bigger problem with not being able to use some things when the slides are in but motorhomes tend to allow for passenger movement. That's also why you don't see super deep slides on motorhomes but may on some trailers.

No 400 hours is not a lot of hours. Could have ben dry camping or using it when traveling where it is hot. I run my generator to power the roof air when ever it is to hot out for the dash to keep it cool. I am willing to bet you can use the RV with the slides puled in. I do it all the time when traveling. It makes you appreciate how much room you have with the slides out.
That sounds like a nice coach you better by it before someone else hears about it.

Just got the hours on the generator - over 400. Is that excessive or out of line with 11k miles on the odometer? I guess maybe just indicates a lot of drydock camping?

Seems high. We have 8000 miles on our RV, and 40 hours on generator. Is there some reason to run the gen when just tooling down the Interstae? We don't but then in a class B, we don't need to run the back AC while on the road

IF all looks good, Bounders are great RVs. We have had great luck with our 2009, owned since new.

Need to know floor plan to answer first question. Most are. My friends 2015 Bounder is narrow at the point to the bathroom and rear, but functional with full side slide closed. Washer dryer combo should be easy and straight forward install if set up for vented splendid. I'd only go vented. Must have for us.

Hmmm, used Bounder and owner with health problems? Run away if the unit is in ABQ and the owner's name is Walter White. ๐Ÿ˜„

Can anyone say whether the refrigerator and bathroom are usable with the slide retracted, i.e. when traveling (after pulling over of course)? Also I believe I heard that there's a washer/dryer hookup but none in the unit. Has anyone added those to this model and any recommendations on that?

The V10 is a solid performer and has few problems if maintained. Same for the Bounder.
Check the date codes on the tiers so you know how old they are.
I would self insure. You will have money in the bank rather in the warranty co.'s bank.

Yes, I saw that. The OP said 'It has about 11,000 miles on it and appears to be in good shape with new tires'.
Appearances can be deceiving, especially tires.
The age of the tires needs to be verified. Even if the seller said they had new tires installed. JMO
