Reserve California Refund

Yesterday we received a letter from the State of California Natural Resources Agency stating a refund was enclosed. There was check from the State Treasurer for just over $140.

We very rarely cancel a reservation so we were stumped, so we started looking back at previous camping reservations. We finally found it, it was for two nights at a State campground that we had canceled back in NOVEMBER! :E

I really don't know what to say, eight months seems excessively slow to me. Printing out a letter, a check and paying full postage to mail it also seems inefficient, why not just refund the credit card like everyone else does :h

And you can give me your address and I'll send you a thank you note myself -- and promptly.

State is usually efficient. I got my business license in 3 minutes and I'm 400 miles away from Sacramento, lol.

CA State Parks just changed over to a new accounting system in January. Due to this changeover, they have been very behind in many payments across the board.

Yes, it is too long for a refund, but it wasn't just "lazy state workers" being lazy - it was a new system throwing everything off kilter and trying to get things back on track.

You are right! We are usually pretty good at keeping track of that kind of stuff but this one slipped by 😮
