Starcraft said use dap caulk no silicone, local rv dealer says to use 100% silicone. I say dadgum, which one its for the roof seams. It appears to be metal roof? 2008 starcraft 2106. PLEASE HELP!!!!!!

My opinion...you local dealer is an idiot. Never use silicone as a sealant on the exterior.

Use Proflex or Dicor.

NO Silicone........unless you never want anything else to stick even more silicone.
Silicone leaves a residue that MUST be removed with a silicone remover (solvent) before anything else can stick again.

Roof seams.......
Dicor self leveling CAULKING

Vertical/sidewall seams/trim......
Dicor non-leveling caulking
OR
ProFlex Caulking

Do it right first time and save yourself problems.

I think you would best be advised to follow the manufacturer's recomendations. They built it and should know best what to use.
