Looking to purchase a 12 to 15 ft high collapsing flag pole. One strong enough to hold a small solar flag illuminating light on top and 1 USA flag.. Which is better? Aluminum or Fiberglass? Recommendations.. Once I get a pole, will make a mount to hold it.

Bought mine at the big swap in Shipshewana, IN. I fly two flags no problem and I stay near where all the windmills are in Palm Springs, CA. Bought it in 2016 still going strong.

The pole actually sets into the bracket that slips into the receiver. I just hadn't put the bolt in yet.

I went back to my amazon order history and found that I bought this one:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YBDA7DC/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

in January 2017.

It works fine and is still working. I did obscure the photoelectric eye with some tape so it comes on a little sooner.

Thanks for all of the inputs.. I ordered and received a Flag Pole and bumper mount.. works great.. BUT now another question..LIGHT? I see numerous solar powered disk style lights on line from numerous sources.. Again, not being able to look at one in person, it is hard to make a choice.. Any recommendations or better yet.. which ones to avoid.. Thanks

I've had their holder since 2011. Awesome product.

Another vote for the flagpolebuddy. Mine is 22', the lowest mount is about 5-6' up, so my pole is about 27-28' high overall. Easiest to install setup I've ever used.

Another Flag Pole Buddy with 2x3 flags the light for this ended up on my pole at the sticks & bricks so I improvised until the new one arrived:

Mine uses a hitch mount for the flagpole. My pole is just a twist lock and if it is too windy it drops down a section or more. I have thought of drilling it for pins but thought maybe it was better to let it drop down if the wind was that high. even all the way down the flags are still off the ground. No climbing, just drop the pole in the mount, pull up the top section and put the mounts on then top ball and the flags and start sliding it up as high as you want.

Here is my flagpole.... It will Hold 2 of the 3 X 5 flags straight in a windy beach day...My flagpole came from - EZ Flag Pole and is 21'...

I have it attached to the trailer with hitch mount pole holder

They do sell a 17' version... and sell a solar light for the top - solar light

My solar light will keep my flags light till day break !

We have the Flagpole Buddy fiberglass pole and mount. We've only had it for one summer, but it did great in some pretty windy conditions. We did take it down when some 40+mph winds hit us in Wyoming ๐Ÿ™‚ We have two flags on it usually.

I made a mount for mine. I use a ***** head in the inch and a half receiver in the back of my trailer. I welded a 1 1/2โ€ nipple to it and screwed a 3โ€™ x 1 1/2โ€ pvc pipe to it. I stuck my 20โ€™ alum paint roller extension handle in the tube with a plastic washer on the handle for a snug fit. I used 2โ€ fender washers on the top end with shower curtain hooks to make a 360* swivel. It works pretty good for my 3x5 flag.

I have an older 22' Flagpole Buddy with 2 flags in gusyt winds. The lower section of my ladder is normally removed so Flagpole Buddy is mounted on the upper section. This results in the bottom mount being 6' from ground and the top about 6' higher and hence the pole is 28' high.

This type of LED light https://www.amazon.com/s?k=flagpole+led&ref=nb_sb_noss_2 is used and it adds additional windage to the pole.

By the way, all my camp pals quit flying two flags because the wind keeps breaking the poles, but we fly our US and United Federation of Planets flags and the pole stands strong. Their two-point mount is that much stronger.
