RV toilet paper now that Walmart is gone?

We are looking to load up on toilet paper. I heard that Walmart's Angel Soft dissolved well, but recently I have heard that the newer stock does not.

Does anybody have an confirmed new choice?

Can't recall exactly what we use, but we have never had an issue with the tissue.

Costco's Kirkland brand is the only brand I'll use in the bathroom, at home and in the trailer. It passes the water and shake test w/ flying colors.

16 years of full-timing and lots of boondocking or dry camping and never had an issue with toilet paper. We use either Scotts or Angel Soft.

He and old man Sears drove Monkey Wards out of business due to the superiority of the "feel" of the S/R catalogue pages.

Plus they dissolved much better in the outhouse hole, thereby reducing by 1/3 the number of fresh holes folks had to dig in the backyard each year!

I want to thank those that provided meaning replies. My concern is not without some basis, but the information I have is old.

Why? (I know some of you think that this is frivolous.)

In the long distant past, I did work for Thetford in their R&D group. The copies of all the warranty reports for all products came to my desk. The number of reported paper clogs was not trivial. We identified even then that Charmin and another (forgotten) brand were the real culprits. It seems that they were even stout enough to clog the 3" opening of a Slide-Eze valve that was then the standard dump valve.

We will soon be doing something we rarely do. That would be park the coach in one place for a week. Using a lot of water in flush is simply not an option. Tanks are only so big overnigths at campgrounds will be rare while we are traveling and dumping at the rally will be less than convenient.

Poster whose test is failing...wow! Even for long term stays there is still movement in the tank with each flush then dumping, etc. The paper holds together enough to still be picked up? I did not have to really shake the jar of water hard, only a little swishing did the trick. I will test the next batch of paper I buy too....still wondering why your test failed...:E

It is my opinion based upon experience that weather one is snowbirding or doing week trips or even weekend trips that the type of toilet paper is less important than the amount of paper one uses . The other factor that contributes greatly to "plugs" or leaky valves is the amount of water one uses per flush on the "job". We use plenty of water to flush and have not had a problem . One more important , very important thing I do when draining my tanks.After draining the black water tank first, I leave the black water tank valve open when I drain the gray water . I also have a valve on the outward pipe where I connect the drain hose that I close a few times while draining the gray water . This forces a back up which allows the gray water to back flush through and into the black water tank. To complete my operation I once again close the blackwater valve and refill the black water tank, about 1/2 full, with clean water by letting water run through the toilet . I have a piece of wood to hold the foot valve open . This is only done while at a full hook up site .I once again drain the black water tank. I then, close the black water valve and add at least 3 gals of water to the empty black water tank to have a watery base for the next tank cycle . Go ahead , shoot holes in my procedure , but I have yet to have a plugged tank or valve while doing it this way, even while traveling for 5 months.We also use very good toilet paper which means we use less and have no poke throughs! Life is Good.

There's nothing magical about RV toilet paper. We've used Angel Soft for years because we used it in the house. Lately we've been using Costco Kirkland brand because we use it in the house. Use what you use in your house.

The problem is the shaking. I currently have the same test going without shaking. Been almost 12 hours without any breakdown at all. Remember not all of us are weekend warriors (BTW aren't you a snowbird?), but sit in a spot for a month at a time (which I'm currently doing.) There is no shaking of the tanks. Even your test is showing a change in the product. It went from a few minutes to 15 (wish I had some of the old stuff to compare against). Now without the shaking it takes hours if not maybe days.

My Angel Soft test is currently holding it's form and can still even be picked up without tearing. Not a good thing in my books for those that sit in one spot for a month or more at a time.

I've gotten a few plugs while dumping this winter. I've been always able to free them with back flushing. When I did that a big chuck of paper would shoot thru the clear fitting. I thought it was the prior owner of the rig using the wrong TP, starting now to think it's the Angel Soft.
