Sticky slide

Our Nash trailer has sat unused for a few months. The slide has always seemed slow to me. Last week I ran the slide out and it didn't want to slide back in. The motor kept kicking off and I had to stop and start and run it out and in a few inches 6 or so times to get it back in. Once it slid in about 1\4 of the way it seemed to work OK. I grabbed a can of silicone and sprayed the slide teeth on the track and up inside the housing. It worked better but not great. I know they make a specific spray lube for this. Is that my answer, should I buy the special RV lube? I also have a can of tri-flow that I could try.

Dry Lube can be purchased at about any auto supply store. I got some at Auto Zone. There is also a WD-40 Brand that is a dry lube which I think you can find at Wal Mart. I have also purchased from CW in the past.

Well I called our local RV repair shop and they recommended changing out the circuit breaker switch. I tested it first by loading all the wires on one terminal and bypassing the breaker. The slide rolled in. So I switched it out and got some slide dry lube and seal treatment and it rolls like new now. They did not recommend using silicone.

It's not the batteries. It's plugged into house 110.

The spray is a good idea. My first thought is to check battery(s). Make sure they are in good condition and up to the task. If your voltage is below 12.3 volts, check and add distilled water if applicable and charge for 24 hours. Good luck.
