Just bought new ford c- max hybrid and want to know if anyone has had one set up for flat towing? I have been towing Saturn vue and roadmaster said I can't use same tow bar. Any input about someone that has a c max set up to tow.
Thanks

Has there any blowback by the campground owners as pertaining the cost of using their electric?

We tow a C-Max Energi. We have the Blue Ox base plate and tow bar with Ready Brake supplemental braking. Also have a charge line. Could not be happier with how well it tows and drives. Gas mileage has been phenomenal on the Energi. Since much of our driving is in EV mode we have yet to use all 14 gallons of the original dealer tank of gas, and we have driven over 1200 miles in the 2 months since we purchased it. An added bonus is being able to plug in at the campgrounds!!

On our initial tow our car was dead on arrival. Turned out our new Blue Ox umbilical cord was miswired!! . Since getting that fixed we have had no issues on all day tows!!

Hope you enjoy yours as much as we do ours!!!

We also use the Blue Ox systems, and have a charge line installed. We don't use a braking system.

We tow a C Max with a Blue Ox baseplate and tow bar. Also have the Blue Ox Patriot brake box. The Patriot specifically states it works with a hybrid. Hooking up is quick and easy. Be certain to install a charge line from the RV to the car or the battery will die after about four towing hours. The installer needs to connect the charge line to the proper terminal. Our installer connected the line to the wrong terminal and the battery went dead after four hours. I took the car to my local Blue Ox dealer where they quickly diagnosed the wrong terminal issue, moved the charge line to the correct terminal and problem solved.
I bought the car at the end of March, 2013 and now have close to 31,000 driving miles plus over 5,000 towed miles. The car has been the subject of two safety recalls. Aside from that it has performed flawlessly.
