Travel Trailer Insurance (Up & Up)

Is everyone with a travel trailer seeing their insurance go up quite a bit each year? I looked into ours after getting the renewal notice this week.

No change in coverage (has vacation insurance, roadside, liability, and comp at replacement value) annual premiums have been:
2016 - $651.00
2017 - $735.00
2018 - $918.00
2019 - $1056.00 (best quote)

I find this annoying, but considering other factors, like our credit is very good (never a late payment, good mix of credit including our mortgage, revolving balances are still recovering from Christmas but still under 50% - over 750) So I don't think credit is the reason. We live in a rural area, with relatively low crime. No accidents or claims other than a windshield on my truck two years ago.

I was quoted each year by Progressive, Foremost, & Good Sam. All three come within roughly $20 a year on the premium.

So why are the rates going up over $100 more annually?

Agree with JAC1982- time with co. means higher rates. Was with AAA for over 40 years, rates went up over double when I reached 65yrs old. They would not even consider a rate reduction. Went to Auto Owners and got rates below AAA before the increase. My 5th is under $250, and there is no charge when the truck and trailer go into storage for the winter, saving me even more.

on our 2011 trailer we have a $1000 deductible on comp, collision etc and min liability. And an umbrella for our liability. Initial cost was $110/year last year was $88

We lost our renewal discount with new purchase this year but full coverage with stated value is still under $500.
Maybe look around to others but rates are very fluid and personal to the insured. Ask the agent what the ratings were to pinpoint the issue.

wow.....bundled in with our 2 vehicles, and homeowners we are under $225 a year..

All of our insurances kept going up with Liberty Mutual (we have everything insured there... 2 trucks, an SUV, the toyhauler, a utility trailer and the house). So we got a new quote from a couple companies and Allstate came in about $2,000 less per year than Liberty Mutual, and includes the RZR. With a much better deductible on our home insurance. No claims other than one at the end of 2017 for hail damage for our house (which is how we figured out how terrible our deductible was for hail damage... it was around $6,000)

I think it's almost a bad thing when you're at a company for a long time. They figure you won't bother changing so they just keep on going up.

I just renewed mine for my TT. Same price as last year. $206 yr for a 2010.

On top of all that, the value of the RV is going down during that time.
What a racket.

Maybe debt to income ratio is affecting the rates? I'm currently paying $325/yr for a 2019 trailer.
