Tree sap

Can anyone tell me what detergent or cleaner is best for removing tree sap from roof and upper side walls?

Really depends upon what sap.. Maple should wash right off, Spring Cotton wood seems to be a cross between super glue and iodine. turpentine will get most of the stuff off.
