Way funny, where I live it's about the same, except I live in the country, mid way between Indianapolis and Muncie, Indiana. We pull stations from Indianapolis, Bloomington, Lafayette, Greenwood and Richmond. At home, we have NO booster and get about 60 stations as well. Inside the camper (at home) with the booster, we get even more, but have to turn the antenna to get some that don't come in at the house, since the house antenna is outside and on a pole.

But yea! It is possible to get 60 stations without a booster! Plug in one of these 'As see on TV' antenna do-dads, and you'll be surprised what comes in too! (no boosters there!)

Yes 64 channels without any booster, but I'm really not sure my 1999 trailer had a working booster ever, or at least as long as I've owned it (5 years).
It doses have a sliding switch on the combo 12 volt/coax plate, and there is a tiny circuit board on the back of it, but the tiny red LED doesn't light up in either switch position.
I should ad that I live 10 miles from New York City where a lot of broadcasting comes from.

I was also having intermittent poor tv reception. For troubleshooting purposes I got up on the roof, unscrewed the coax wire at the antenna itself and connected a 25 foot wire I had in my garage.
I ran it down thru a window directly to the TV, and now getting 63 channels where I previously got 4.
Now I can safely say it's an issue in the 18 year old coax wire.

So you Are getting 64 channels with no booster power?

coax does wear out from UV rays. replace the short run from the antenna to the roof connector with a quality run of RG-6 and you should be good to go.

More likely than not it's the 18 year old connectors attached that you just haven't found yet

as others before have indicated the antenna itself rarely is the cause of problems. much more likely is the amplifier is not working or the cable connecting the antenna to the box-of-many-buttons (BOMB) or to the back of the TV itself. since you have 3 TV sets you likely have a BOMB so that would be the first thing I'd check. there will be one cable coming IN from the antenna and at least three cables going OUT, one to each of the TV sets. check to make sure all of them are tightly connected to the back of the BOMB and to the TV's. you also might make sure that the antenna connector on the roof is tightly connected.

if all three TVs are behaving the same way then you have an intermittent problem which leads me to believe you have flaky power to your amp (does the amp's light go on and off with the picture on the TV?) or an intermittent connection at the roof or at the cable IN connector on your BOMB.

It would help if you could correctly identify just which antenna head you have. A Jack TV Antenna manufactured by King Controls is not a "batwing" antenna as you first suggested, a Sensar TV Antenna manufactured by Winegard is ... which do you have? :h

So you are saying this is cyclical ?
That would very easily be weather, and you don't necessarily have to see it, the problem could be inversion. Have you got it properly pointed?

The other thing that will cause this is some LED lighting, and it may not even be yours. See if you can find a pattern between yours or your neighbors lights being on and no TV

Does the led on the antenna itself light up? If so, the antenna is bad, if not, bad cable or power supply.
