For the first time in more than 20 years we are going for a week without the camper. It just don't feel right, and even split 3 ways, The cost is mind blowing. Just our part is more than double the cost of a campsite for a week at the beach. But they all wanted to get a house on the OBX. so we will be on our way at 0 dark 30.

We'll see how it goes, But I'm thinkin. This is not going to be a regular thing. I miss my camper already.

I'm not as die hard as some.

We recently took a trip to Kentucky and were staying only 3 nights so pulling a TT made no sense. The 750 miles would have taken two rushed days there and two back. We found a nice little family owned motel for 69.00 a night. TT would have made sense if we were wanting to take an easy week getting there and another getting back.

Crowe,

I never back pedal and have zero need or reason to. The truth and facts speak for themselves. No matter how you dress a pig or define a pig, a pig is still a pig and most humans do not want to live with them or occupy their vacated pens or rooms. Especially when not cleaned and sanitized properly. You can do whatever you see fit to do as that's your prerogative but you DO NOT speak for the majority or the masses. Get over your own self! You can only control your own property and items and what a RV helps you and promotes/gives you the ability to do! Simple as that!

Nutz, get over yourself. Never said that stuff didn't happen just pointing out what you said was uncalled for. I just crack up that so many RVers have to puff their chests out and defend what they do. Shows incredible immaturity and incredible insecurity. "Do you know the pigs" indicates no matter WHO was there they were a pig. Period. Backpedaling will never change that.

Recent experience: 1-1/2 years ago we flew on United down to the southern tip of the Yucatan to a very expensive exclusive time share for a week with our Daughter and Hubby who have it in Cabo. Simply gorgeous very large place and has stunning maintained grounds but the cleanliness of the room was not very impressive and it was a mega bucks place. Per the housekeeping woman for our unit we'd gotten to know, they had 1/2 hour to clean each 1800 sq ft unit each day. OK? I asked her about the cleaning crew between guests each week and she said there's still only me and I still only have 1/2 hour to clean for each unit. 2 bedrooms, full kitchen, dining area for 8 as there was 2 foldout couches in the living room, 2 baths, a 6' X 40' veranda. 1800 sq feet inside alone in 1/2 hour to clean properly? Who are you kidding and why it left much to be desired as it was obvious. Yes, we'd go again but will take Lysol along in our checked luggage. Rooms are in use all year long and that means perhaps 50+ different guests each and every year after year. Draw your own conclusion!

Too far to Cabo from Michigan for an RV trip and for only one week and was our first time in over 10 years without one of our RV's.

Crowe,

Wise up! I'd never said in my post that "ALL" who rent or stay in motels, hotels, go on cruise ships etc are "pigs". You read that into it yourself! Many unclean germ and harmful bacteria laden piggish people do go to these venues and the places are NOT properly cleaned or sanitized after they or anyone else even the clean had helped to distribute these harmful factors had left and passed them on to the next guests to arrive. All it takes is for one such occurrence to happen and it grows from there. Not in our RV's or homes and not on our watch! If the shoe fit's you can own it for yourself!

Perhaps, you don't even have a clue!

Germs are passed along and just do not suddenly appear out of the blue and why even hospitals are constantly fighting terrible infections within. Do you think it's the properly cleaned humans patients that mostly bring those germs and bacteria into even such as a hospital let alone a public not properly cleaned and sanitized accommodation? Guests to and in these public accommodations are not screened or even monitored and what do you think they left behind??? It is you who controls what and who enters your own RV or home and bear the responsibility for any resulting issues derived.

The lack of proper sanitation of public inhabitant use facilities has been proven over and over and is extensively documented! So perhaps, you think the fact that masses attending such improperly cleaned and sanitized accommodation venues or dinners or on cruises and get very sick are just faking it? Tell that to the many who have gotten very sick or died from it, persons or families!

Do any of the many won lawsuits tell you anything at all or the factual on file documentation?

Black lights revealing's do NOT lie! Who might be the ignorant one?

On one of the few vacations we have done without the RV, we went to Maui in November a couple of years ago. The resort we stayed at was right on the ocean and neither one of us missed the RV! :B. It was absolutely beautiful and we will do it again some day.

Crowe, speak for yourself! Until you know the facts, might you be guessing?

You have no idea who stayed in the house prior. Your comment of "pigs" inferred all who rent are pigs. It was rude and uncalled for, period.

Where did I say people who rent houses for their vacations are pigs. Pretty sure you dreamed that

Wasn't referring to you. Read Travelnutz completely unacceptable post. Generalizations like that are just plain ignorant.
