Newmar switched from Whirlpool to Splendide during the 2020 model years due to complaints with the stacked Whirlpools. The stacked Splendides work but naturally not as well as the S&B units. Set up the dryer to exhaust outside. Not sure if all the combo units are set up to exhaust outside.

The Splendines come both vented and ventless.

Splendide 2100XC about 3 years now works well doing loads every few days, 15lb max. We pull shirts just before dry and hang they to remove wrinkles. Had an issue & tech support was great, ID'd the issue in a phone call, simple fix. Exhaust line sagged and blocked flow, I did not shorten and over time the sag made a V. Cut to length problem solved.

We have a GE Washer and GE Dryer Space Saver series. They were used for full timing for 7 years. We now use them on a limited basis. They are extremely quite, and virtually vibration free....you have have to turn off the television and listen carefully to see if they are still running. They also have a pretty remarkable load capacity. Also, they are โ€œstackableโ€, 110/120 volt units!

As these are old units, I cannot attest to the quality of those produced today! Hopefully, the quality is remotely close to that of yesteryear! memtb

Splendide combo unit for us. We have the room for stacked units but would loose storage.

The current Splendide unit we have is 19 years old and all I have done to it is replace the water pump once

We lived with a Splendide combo unit, external vent, for a couple of years full timing in a fiver. It worked great for us. When space is at a premium, having a single unit instead of two stacked up was rather nice, in our opinion. YMMV.

I have a combo unit, it's okay. If I replaced it or when I get another RV it will be a stacked unit.
I think you will be happier with a stacked W/D.

We had a Splendide combo which worked ok, but after it gave up the ghost, we decided to install an Ariston washer and a dryer.

One of the best RV buys we've ever done. It's faster than a combo unit. However, since the dryer is 110V, not 220V, don't expect it to compete with household dryers. But we're not in a hurry so it doesn't matter.

We've had both stacked and combo in different Class A's but DW (the expert) prefers the separate ones. Says it takes a lot less time when doing multiple loads as one load can be washing while the previous load is drying. No particular difference in how well either choice cleans. (The word from the washing God...LOL)

I am shopping for W/D as well. Based on some advice here I am looking at "apartment" units. They sell in HD and Lowes, and some run on 110 or 220 so there are options. They are much cheaper than a set of RV specific W/D. Like 1/3 the cost.
