Washing to RV roof

What is a good product for cleaning the rubber roof of my 5th wheel? Forest River states "A mild household soap solution and a soft brush can be used to clean a rubber roof." I understand using a soft brush for surface protection. Is Dawn dish soap to aggressive or just right? Also, anyone with experience with UV protectant? Thanks.

Palmolive with OxyClean.
Hose down the roof, squirt right from the bottle and work it around with a long handled soft brush. Rinse.

According to my owners manual, My roof is already treated with UV protectant, so I don't use anything.

A clean roof will really help with the black streaks as will a good coat of wax on the trailer sides. no elbow grease required.

Plan on doing a minimum wax job if not full buff then wax on the rest of the MH , TT etc if you use Dawn, it will strip the wax off .

Well unless you DON"T get any on the painted/gel coated waxed areas rinsing it off 😉

Some think if a little is good alot must be better, go easy on the product you use...

x2. I used this for the first time last weekend and was amazed at how well it worked. I used to use car wash soap and Tide powder for the tough spots and the Murphy's oil soap easily took off grime that the other products would not remove even with scrubbing. It left a seemingly nice protective film on it too.

IMO, the more thoroughly you clean the roof, the more protectants you remove. I use a very soft brush, and remove most of the dirt, I don't scrub at all.

Forgot to mention I use Murphy's Oil Soap and Awesome mix.

I wet the roof and then sprinkle powdered Comet or Spic-n-Span on it. Then use an automotive type soft bristle brush on a handle to gently scrub, then rinse off. Works great. Roof still looks new.

Dish soap, spic n span, or laundry detergent should all be fine. "Mildness" is partly the cleaner used and partly the strength of the solution.

I've generally used a string mop on my rubber roof. It may not get perfectly spotlessly clean, but then again I don't eat off of it, nor even see it very frequently.

Dish soap is fine or Simple Green. I use a soft long handled brush for that once a year cleaning & inspection

Spic-N-Span & soft bristle brush
