Is a WDH necessary with the newer trucks(2015 F250)that have sway control and air bags? Thinking maybe getting a TT with weight around 10K GVWR and 1060 tongue weight(per brochure).

Yes. 10,000 lbs will cause serious problems w/o one.

Yes, nothing about new trucks has anything at all to do with what a WDH does.
Air bags and sway controls have been around for decades.
A WDH physically transfers weight up forward on the tow vehicle.
Thereโ€™s no new techno gizmo that can do that.

Ya, its not just a matter of the truck just being able to support the weight. It's also a matter of getting the weight distributed for handling purposes.

I would defiantly use WDH with a 10,000 lb TT. 1060 lb dry tongue weight will be more by the time you add propane and batteries, load the front storage up and other items in front of the axle. I'm not sure what the new Fords have for a receiver rating with WDH or no WDH. something to check as well.

YES ! ! ! !

I pull a 7,000lb TT with a 1 ton and I wouldn't pull it without a WDH, and sway control.
