How and where do you go to find your total weight of your TT & Truck?

Thanks all for the info called CAT by me they weigh all 3 axles for $10.50. Well be there this week.

A commercial truck scale on a highway will also work but you'd have to use it when it's quiet with no truckers waiting to weigh (Sunday?). You probably would have to back up to get 2 of the 3 passes that are needed. Some have more room than others to pull over and unhook a TT to do this and not get in anyone's way.

If you want to weigh each side of your TT, they won't let you at a CAT scale and you'll need to find another scale. Getting the weight on each side of a TT can be helpful in some cases to ensure tires aren't overloaded.

If going to a CAT scale, tell them you are doing a re-weigh on each pass so that you won't get charged more for each subsequent pass.

I use a multi-section scale ($8.00 in a nearby AmBest Truck Stop). Put the front truck axle on the first pad, drive axle on the second pad, and trailer on the third pad. That way I know exactly what's going on, and the need to rebalance or just jettison some weight.

I would weigh each axle on the trailer separately, but the gap between sections is just a bit too tight--the wide set axles on some trailers would easily span that gap.

Or prior to pulling onto the scale, go inside to the counter & tell them you want to weigh. The clerk will watch for you and your rig upon pulling on.

we have a grain elevator that leaves the big digital readout that is outside on 24/7.

The closest elevator will do it for grins if you know them.

Agree...go out and weigh it at a weigh station

No chart or formula will ever get it...as how does it know how much 'that' driver
weighs, their passengers weigh, their pets weight, the 'stuff' they loaded into
and onto the TV

Ditto the trailer...there is no chart in the world that knows what any given trailer
weighs.

Ranges is about as good any chart can be without actually weighing

Shopping for either or both...yes the charts are good to provide an approximation
of what it 'might' weigh...but it will NOT tell you what it will weigh

A good example of a 'chart' weight range...

I'm 6'0 tall. 'Husky' or 'Athletic and toned'. 67 years old

I actually weigh in at around 180 lbs, butt naked. 'Around' because I
don't weigh the same day to day, nor with whick clothes/shoes/etc
worn that day...which can add 10-15 lbs or more

The best insurance actuary charts will only give a 'range' for my weight...

A CAT scale - often found at truck stops - is a great place for it. Cost is somewhere in the $10-15 range (last I heard) to get weighed. You position your entire rig on the scale and push a button (which is really high up, so be prepared to use something to reach it with) to request a weigh, then go in & pay the cashier for your weight readout.
