There you go trying to mix politics and common sense. You should know better than that......

You know that the Sunoco at South Huron and I-275 has a 0-Eoh pump, right?

I try to run non ethanol in my challenger, and since the truck is D, not too awfully worried.

There's a big difference between 10 & 15%. Older fuel pumps and some fuel lines can't take the increase.

It would sure be good if Gary is right.

I played Hell getting our antique (in 5 months) coach to run right on the 10% stuff. I actually tested a bunch of what I bought along the way and the %Eoh was just about exactly the reduction in MPG for that tank.

I haven't worked for a Detroit OE for a few years, but when this thing started, we did a lot of gas-Eoh durability and it was a disaster. Ten percent was only a moderate disaster, but over that, it has to be stainless or teflon fuel lines to get it to out last the warranty.
There are a whole lot of vehicles on the road that will be crashing if they push this.

OH - Yeah, to answer Mexicowanderer's question, as of a few years ago, ever place I tested was +/-10% EOH unless I bought 0-EOH which is not easy when you don't know the area. This is even true with the "Pure-Gas" list printed.

All gas is not going to 15% as a minimum. A few ethanol producing states are going to blend and sell 15% gas outside of the normal June to September cutoff.
Nothing is going to change with 10% gas availability.

It is not really a 10 cent price cut as your mileage will drop.

It appears those energy advisors are poorly informed. Every and I mean every decision they have made is detrimental to the public. Life is tough enough without their policies.

They had better get informed or they are in line for a career change.

Currently I think MI is 10% or 80% (Labeled pumps only on E-80)

15% is harmful per Mercury Motors. and they ran the test.

Just how much good does the WH think a 10 cent price cut do for $5.00 gas?? Just goes to show how far away from real people those politicians are.

Actually in most of the US the standard is now 10%, so most pumps already have it.

They just need to slap a new sticker on the 10% pumps and fill the tank with 15% fuel.

The question is does it make sense for the fuel companies. They went to the 10% to meet govt rules, not because it was cost effective. If the govt doesn't somehow force them to sell the 15% stuff, it's unlikely to happen.

As a consumer, the 10cents per gallon savings is eaten up to a good degree by lower MPG.

And that is when I will start using 0%. Just have to look a little bit to find a pump. The cost difference is negligible.
