We live in Crystal Beach, Texas. Have a cat that comes and goes: inside, outside. We are dealing with fleas on him constantly. What can we put on him that will kill the fleas instantly. Any other input is most definitely appreciated.

Also note: DO NOT USE PRODUCTS DESIGNED FOR DOGS!!
Many formulations for dogs can QUICKLY become LETHAL to cats.
You may want to consider keeping him as an indoor-only cat for a couple of months until you are sure he and your house are free of fleas. He may not be getting fleas from repeated trips outdoors; as other posters have eluded, they could be throughout your house, and if he sleeps in the same 5 or 6 spots (chairs, blankets, etc), he could be re-infesting himself from those sleeping spots.
You also need to treat inside as eggs will be shed in the carpet and then hatch onto the cat. We used a GREAT product that we got from the vet for our dog and I would think they may have a cat product too. You can now buy online. It is made by Virbac and is/was called Knockout. It keeps the fleas from maturing and laying eggs, so stops the cycle. You spray on interior furniture, floors, drapes etc and after dry (about 1 hr) is safe for your pets. Lasts 5 months.
