Maddie and Nash

The little terrier mix, Nash, that we adopted last month is settling in very well so far. He even did really well on his first camping trip to McKinney Campground on Lake Allatoona, GA over Labor Day! He's not quite sure about all this new stuff we've been throwing at him, but he's handling it better than we thought he would.

He and Maddie are already BFFs - they're two peas in a pod. They love doing the burn around the backyard multiple times during the day, with Maddie doing all the chasing. They seem to prefer it that way. They play quite rough (the terrier in both of them, I guess) as they play chase. Nash will grab Maddie's tail and drag her around in circles (quite to her consternation!), while Maddie will tackle Nash while chasing him and roll him over. They're both happy as clams!!

Here's a picture of them both being still, for a change (Maddie on left/Nash on right)! Pops, check out the top of Nash's head. You might get your mohawk after all! This piece of hair will NOT lie down - lol!

I've often referred to the two of them as the terrors - lol! Nash has an affinity for my shoes, which I'm not used to. He doesn't tear themn up - he just carries them off and gently chews on them. I was looking for my bedroom slipper yesterday, and finally noticed it in the middle of the backyard - lol!

Yeah, the groomer said to grow out his topknot to see if his hair would lie down. Although it's working for most of the hair, the bit right in the middle is stubborn. It is what it is. It gives him character, right?

The two of them had what I thought was a knock-down fight tonight, so I looked over to see if I needed to intervene. Maddie was snarling, growling, barking, baring her teeth, and snapping at the air, an inch from Nash's face, but she didn't touch Nash in any way - silly girl. They were arguing over who would get the deer antler lying between them - problem easily solved by taking it away from both of them...

Trouble? Yes, with a capital T!! Gotta love terriers! They keep us on our toes, that's for sure. However, both are great cuddle bugs on the couch.
