rescued a good dog

Rescued a 2 yr old collie today from a 10 by 10 pen she shared with another dog, got her at 9 am by 10 she was at the vet given a clean bill of health given all shots and chipped.
Now she has free run of a half acre and can come in the house, she knows no commands but comes when called but hardly ever leaves my side.
She pays no attention to the wife's cats but they all give her the stink eye and walk around with their backs arched and bushy tails.

Took Maggie on a 2 week road trip,to long island and cape cod and she sure acts like she had a good time. The camp ground we stayed at on the island was great, the woman in charge said since she was so well behaved I could let her off lead so in the mornings before anyone else in the cam was up ( I would walk her around the camp to make sure no lights were on in the r.v.s) I would take her to the back and let her run for about ten minutes.
While there we also took her to DW cousins house and she was able to play with his kids, and chase chickens around the yard.
Then it was back on the ferry to Conn. And the drive to Cape Cod,this was another great site with plenty of roads around the camp, spent 5days there and still don't think I saw the whole camp. They also have indoor kennels, and will walk your pets as much as you want them to.
The three cats really had a good time also, my Siamese who never tried to get out of the house before we left, Sat at the back door and cried for 2 days after we got home guess he wants to o on another trip.

Maggie's doing fine,she had an infect3d eye when we got her after ask of antibiotics it's healed.took her to the pet store the other day @nd let her pick out some toys.
The cats are some what getting used to her at least the Siamese distantly to the top fireplace mantel anymore when she comes in the room.
Wife has pics :just need to get them posted.

Sleeping with your sock, now that's pure love! :B One of our girls, now gone to the Bridge, loved to sleep with her "dad's" old t-shirt or anything of his. They become so bonded to their favorite person. Bet she comes back pretty from the groomer tomorrow.

Maggie seems to be happy I take her out to play and when she's done she goes to the door and looks at me as if to say come on dad lets go get in the air.
Have her crate set up next to my chair she goes in on her own and lays down, she's close enough I can reach between the bars to pet her. Last night after I went to bed the wife said she came out and got one of my socks and took it back in with her.
Will post some before and after pics when she gets back from the groomer tomorrow.

Congrats on your new pup, your very lucky but so is she, they are such people dogs and she probably knows how lucky she is!!

It's the same for our Lab, she gets really hyper when she doesn't have enough exercise.
Sooooo we make sure she gets lots of day at dog beach where she can romp in the water and catch sticks then we also make sure she goes to the dog park a lot.
We've found with our Lab that a really tired Lab is a very happy and well behaved dog.

Congrats on your new fur baby! She knows she's got it good now, so she doesn't want you out of her sight! I'd love to see a photo of her!
