Last Thurs my 19 yr old tortie had to go to the vet as she was a bit dehydrated. She came home Friday night in good shape, eating, drinking etc. sat night she didn't seem like she was comfortable and by sun morning she could not lift her head up. I took her to emergency where they said her potassium level dropped and she was to stay. Monday her fluid and potassium levels were back up but my vet who is so awesome felt it was time for her to go as her body was tired and her kidneys were failing. I knew she was right so I went right over and held my baby and helped her cross the bridge. She looked so good, she never looked old but I could tell she wasn't comfortable and she let me put a towel over her which she only let me do when she was sick last year. It broke my heart in a million pieces to let her go but I promised her 18 yrs ago she would never suffer again. I kept that promise. Marble was an amazing cat with a personality like no other. I will love her and keep her in my heart forever. She has been cremated just like my other kitties and will be home next week. Losing 3 cats in 6 months is draining but I am so glad they were part of my life.
I am sorry for your loss. It feels like a part of you dies along with them. It's been almost a year since my ol' cat crossed the bridge, still think of him daily.
I'm sure you have many happy memories with her...All my Best.. Bob J.
