Since Abby's passing last month, Penny hasn't been her spunky self (actually, none of us have). We decided to get another rescue. We pick her up Friday. Here is Twinkie! Any guesses as to breed (we were told golden/setter/spaniel mix)? Agnes

Here's them on their first hike together. Otis tied Twinkie's leash to Penny's so the big sister showed her how to behave. They did great! Agnes

Thanks for the suggestions and tips... very much appreciated! Here's a pic of Twinkie at the vet. She fell asleep in the scale. Agnes

I think Cesar, The Dog Whisperer, has a video about training pups from working breeds. It might even be online. I remember him putting a young dog in a kind of harness that held a couple of water bottles. Not real heavy, but to make the dog feel the weight and know she was "working." It wouldn't be hard at all to make that kind of harness or vest. I'm sure there are lots of tips out there.

Just keep her "busy". They like to have jobs - even if it's nothing more than bringing you a sock "accidentally" dropped from the laundry basket 🙂
