Welcome Sasha New Pictures

She arrived to her new home yesterday after a LONG involved bunch of trips. Her journey will make good campfire stories.

She's about 18 months to 2 years old and is instantly part of our family. Kaylee is happy to have a sister.

Sasha is such a sweetie. We are so happy that everything worked out the way it did, it was just meant to be.🙂

Sandy met (online) the lady from Turkey that rescued Sasha. She's in St.Louis right now with Jan (from Love a Golden rescue) and another batch of rescued goldens. She said Sasha was rescued from Ayvalik, Turkey (I google mapped it). It looks to be a resort town on the western side of Turkey on the Mediterranean (I guess it's technically the Aegean Sea). She said Sasha had a rough time for a while and only had bread to eat. Sort of explains why she goes after anything alive or dead on our walks and any food left by Kaylee.

We're about 11 months in with Sasha and couldn't be happier. She's a wonder, great personality and a fantastic companion.

DownTheAvenue, when I heard that Sasha was from Turkey, I knew I'd heard about this before! I live just south of ATL, so we get the Atlanta news. So interesting!! Thanks for sharing.

Wow. Thanks DowntheAvenue for that information. I often read stories of rescue groups from other countries and this was really interesting. So glad dogs are cared for and rescued even when it involves great distances and red tape.

She is truly a beauty. Congratulations are in order for Sasha and Dr. Doug and Sandy.

In our park we have a lot of French Canadians and I often ask them if their dogs are bilingual. They get a kick out of that question as I guess they never thought of it before. But I have dog sat for some and they normally tell me they understand both English and French. . . at least some words.
