5'ver roof repair.

Hey everyone, new here, first post. so may be long ( going to be) and rambly forgive me, I was given a 1992 mallard sprinter. 28' fifth wheel, this thing has extreme water damage, I have to replace wall studs, rafters roof decking on both ends, and had to fix a corner of the floor with new decking. I do everything myself and Love wood working so its not an issue to work on this, I have carpentry skills. I had planed on remodeling this thing on the inside anyway, just hadn't planned on all the water damge. A little background on me, I am disable and on a Fixed income. I am not the one paying to repair the water damage. that is being paid for by the ones who gave the sprinter to me. Basically this is for me to live in sometimes and to be able to have my own place, It will not be towed at all, and if I ever did decide to tow it somewhere, it would not be far and wouldn't be but once or twice every few years or so,

Basically this is the situation, I need to replace the roof decking on the front and back of this thing. which means i need to peal the rubber roof back, the owner before me, silicone everything that was leaking with regular silicone. made a mess of the roof around the ladder and all those seems. he knew their was a leak but just covered everything up with silicone, and new paneling. anyway I want to take the rubber roof completely off, and do something different, the roof is the Original and from what i see from the inside it is a white rubber EPDM liner. just from the big gap from rotting deckboard. (i have to rebuild a whole new corner of this thing in the rear, floor to ceiling) Anyway for the roof decking I was thinking of doing Bedliner, or a liquid rubber right on the plywood decking, My budget for this project is very strict, I have been given $500 to redo the roof. Hence why i am looking at bedliner or liquid rubber. again this thing does not have to travel, and will not have to even be taged, Eventually i Plan on making a pergola over top of it with vines shading the roof. (may take a few years) So the roof has to give me at least 5-10 or better years of leak free hassel, So I come to you go folks to kind of help me with this roof situation.

OK sorry if your confused but $500.00 and i'm not taking it to a rv park its going to sit right on my land. that has well and septic. and no other dwelling, and far as being in for a huge let down thats been my whole life, nothing new there, as far as water damage Its basicaly 1 whole corner, and the roof. and the front corner needs new roof decking.
maybe i made it sound worse then it is, I have everything to repair the inside studs and floor cost me a total of $50.00 with all the supplies i already had. My cousin replaced his friends camper roof with liquid rubber and cost him $300.00 but he couldn't remember the brand it was. and i didn't ask the type of camper it was. As far as redoing this thing, im making it happen. it isn't for travel. I would of liked to carry it up the mountain omce or twice but that isn't necessary. I Didn't inspect this before it was given to me. and their is no way they will get a newer one for me. and i can't afford one. so I am stuck with what i have and need to make do. Please give me help not bash what i have, the roof is my biggest expense. and thats is why i am coming here for help.

Put down a thin 1/4 in layer of plywood over any soft spots on the roof. Go around the edge of the plywood with bondo all purpose. Paint over the whole roof with 1 Gallon of Heng's Rubber Roof Coating (on Amazon for $55/gal) and use ProTapes Pro Flex Flexible Butyl All Weather Patch and Shield Repair Tape, 50' Length x 2" Width ($22 on Amazon) on all the seams. You will have a waterproof roof.

BTW: if you do not mind the tedious process of installing it. Use some DOUBLE Bubble Aluminum Reflective Insulation Roll for insulation instead of the fiberglass that soaks up and holds moisture.

You can spend more money but one gallon of Hengs should do your whole roof. The Plywood is just to make the soft spots strong enough to walk on. I did not even bother to remove the old EPDM. The bondo will stick to the EPDM but is rigid and it will not flex, so cover the seams/edges with the tape if you ever want to move the unit. Hairline cracks will appear in the bondo at the seams.

Another BTW: If the roof membrane is white on top and bottom it is a TPO membrane not EPDM. EPDM is white on the one side and black on the other. Not all coating material will stick to TPO but Hengs will, which is why I recommend it over the $300 dollar stuff (liquid rubber) that also needs a primer coat before it will stick to TPO.

WOW. Your simply opening yourself up to a huge letdown. That trailer is too old to be anything but scrap. There is no way anybody in their right minds would consider spending five dollars on it. There is simply by your description too much water damage. Heck, a new roof alone could cost 5000 dollars. Even if you could fix it up, and thats dpubtful, the end results will not be worth squat. Not mentioning trying to find a RV park to park it!
