AC won't shutoff - Furnace Fan is running as well

Need some advice.

Went outside early one morning last week on my way to work and hear a fan noise coming from my RV garage. I had it plugged in to keep the battery charged (probably will stop that and go with a trickle charger...). Opened the door and the AC unit was running. Went into the 5th Wheel (Reflection) and the thermostat was not even in the "on" position. I tried to turn it off with no luck and finally killed the main breaker so I could head to work.

Since then, I have done some troubleshooting: Thermostat has all the correct lights, etc. but doesn't seem to have any effect on the AC (if the AC unit breaker is on, it is running). Also, the heater fan kicks in and runs when I flip on the main breaker but shuts itself off after 2 or 3 minutes.

I have a Dometic Single Zone LCD control thermostat. I read online how to "reset it" by holding the "+" button and the "on" button for 3 seconds and have done that several times (looks like the reset functioned ok) but it didn't fix the issue. Also, read to pull / reset the furnace 12v fuse but it also had no effect on the furnace portion of the issue.

I assume the first step is to replace the Thermostat. I read on this forum of others replacing their thermostat with the programmable thermostats. I see I can order a new Dometic replacement for ~$28 online but thought I would ask your advice to see if there are other things I should look at besides the thermostat and if I should consider other thermostats. It runs the air and heat.

I don't know if we had a power surge or something like that but it sure is acting strange to simply turn itself on.

I do have extended warranty but every time I take it in, they fix that issue but seem to break other things. I would like to simply fix it myself or at least troubleshoot it to the point of knowing an approximate cost of repair first...

Thanks in advance for your advice!

When mine went bad the compressor stayed on and it was the control module and not the tstat.

I'm sure you checked this but, have you made sure the fan is in the "Au" mode? Mine was doing the same thing until I switched the fan. Is your ac and heat running or just the fan? My thermostat looks like this one

2007 Dodge Ram 3500 Cummins SRW, Airlift airbags, Bilstein shocks, Smarty Jr., stainless turbo back exhaust, B&W Patriot 18K

2015 Grand Design Momentum 328M, disc brakes, Progressive Industries 50 amp EMS

Yep, sounds like the thermostat.
