ARRRRRRRGH!! I Can't Put It Back Together! UPDATE!!

SIGH! We Managed to melt half a pound of butter all over the stop top and down onto the catch pan of the stove top. It is a MAYTAG GAS RANGE Model # CLY2220BDB. I had to take the central flash burner tube assembly apart to clean the goop off of the piece and the two spring clips came off before I could see how they were attached.

Could somebody with a similar type stove top take a close up picture of the central flash tube assembly and post it up either here or in a PM so that I can figure this out? I downloaded the manual for this range. However, the schematic was of no help in detailing the assembly of the flash tube unit.

Thanks and Cheers!

That would be Mike the Dumb who melted the 1/2 pound of butter. Didn't even see it (butter dsih) on top of the stove grate as I was preheating the oven for fries. By the time I said "wow, is it smoky in here?" it was too late! My bad. Shuffle of shame!

Hey Mex - good to hear from you - thanks for posting!

Cheers!

Was it Mike or Carol that spilled the melted butter?

SUCCESS AT LAST!!! We don't have to have any more take out food! YAY!!

Images attached. I found the schematic in an RV OEM user manual from a similar RV to ours.

Thanks all for your help and input!!

I only wish!!! LOL. I just got off the IRC with Janice B. the parts representative from web site. She advises that the parts for this stove are largely discontinued. She provided me with the manufacturers part number and suggested that I google search for the part image. I advised her that I had BTDT and would continue to troll the web.

Thanks for your thoughts Bill.Satellite!

What I post is my 2 cents and nothing more. Please don't read anything into my post that's not there. If you disagree, that's OK.
Can't we all just get along?

Hi everyone!! Well, I followed the preceding helpful suggestions and trolled the infinite world wide web for any kind of picture of the fully assembled flash tube assembly and every road led to pretty much the same exploded view of the assembly that does not show how the spring wires attach to the tubes. Today I will try to follow the "ask a pro" lead and see if that produces a positive reply. I'll keep the thread updated until I get a picture of the assembly.

Cheers!

Try this;
Open Google Search
Enter the part # only and enter; CLY2220BDB
Click on the 'image' button at the top of the page.
See if any of those images give you what you need.

This should find a lot of photos including those on any forum others have taken and posted.

Mike: I know you have the manual and it does not show you the information you require. I followed the link provided by K Charles and there is a "chat with a pro" button. Perhaps you can request a picture of the burner assembly you require. Just a thought. Good Luck.
I am living proof that you are never too old to do something foolish.

I got my butt kicked doing an R&R on a tilt and telescope '76 Corvette steering column. Forever knocked the sass out of me. An entire humble pie right in the kisser

Hi guys! Thanks for your replies! Unfortunately, there is no joy in the kitchen and no nookie in the bedroom if I don't get this fixed! Yes, I already have the manual and the schema that it shows does not give the image that I need! No, I haven't lost any parts, I just can't get them back together properly! I do like your term "inelegant tinkering". Too late now to preach to the choir about taking before pictures. That is my normal practice for engines and other complex things. I guess my overconfidence told me "phhht! how complicated can it be". Well, now I know!

What I really need is a picture of the complete, installed in place unit that shows me where these darned spring clips/hooks attach to.

Thanks again folks!

I take pictures before I take unfamiliar stuff apart.
