I have not seen many really short torx screws, at least not in the local bix box hardware stores. I did find some but they are #6 screw size. I see Amazon has #10x1/2" pan head ss self tapping torx head screws. Sold in quantity 8000/36 pounds for $462. I suspect this may not be what you want tho.

I've used Bolt Depot for bolts, screws, etc. Initial order was small quantities. Now I buy quantities of 100. For screws I buy stainless and square head, never Phillips as they strip.

I've been happy dealing with Fastenal in the past, but no real experience with their online ordering experience. But they do have excellent product selection. Ebay may be an option too if you're dealing with common sizes. Lots of Ebay shops offer free shipping.

Amazon Prime for many items, but they won't have the variety that McMaster-Carr has, or Graingers as the other major option. Those two are really targeted at industrial and commercial customers not single consumers. The big customers set up accounts and can get cuts on shipping costs, we normally got 24 hour shipping from M-C for example.
