I am planning to recarpet the engine cover in my rv.I would like to get some recommendations on what type of glue to use for this project?Also should i use a spray or brush when applying it?

How hot does the cover get? I am in the middle of recarpeting the entire front of my motorhome, including the doghouse. I added a bunch of insulation and sound deadening material to the underside of the doghouse to tray and keep it cooler and more quiet. So, the outside of the doghouse should not get very hot.

But, me being paranoid, I purchased spray adhesive that is good for high temperature. Last thing I wanted was carpet falling off after dog house gets hot!

77N made by 3M is a good spray adhesive. Walmart,HD,Lowes all sell Weldwood contact adhesive which is much cheaper and you brush it on. I prefer the brush on for what you are describing. Just make sure you brush on even and let both sides dry completely before applying pressure. I would apply two coats to the carpet.

Mine was done last week using contact cement applied with a brush.

I havent had a chance to pull the old carpet off and have read some posts that have said the stuff can be pretty hard to get off.Are thier any way that would be per say easiest?
