Carrier Air - V heatpump replacement

Carrier stopped making RV A/Cs. A couple weeks ago I had problems with mine and discovered the there were only 3 replacement parts in the country (two remaining after I get mine fixed). I love the design because I can change from heat pump to furnace to A/C, to fan mode and adjust the temp by using the remote I can do it all without getting out of bed. have a front and rear A/C. after I get the front fixed if the rear needs a part I may not fine one. I can buy one of the two remaining parts as a spare that I may never need. If I need to fix the other one in the future I may have to have a wall thermostat installed and it may get complicated wiring up a heat pump and furnace control to the replacement.

Are there aftermarket parts that the dealer was not aware of, and maybe a part will be available if I need one in the future?

Maybe if I am allowed to keep the broken part I can fix it and keep it as a spare.

Or maybe there are other companies that make A/Cs that do the same thing the Carrier did?

I just got this 2009 Alumascape a month ago and it is being fixed under a one month warrantee. So far I love the camper and plan on keeping it for a while but I am wondering what I should do if there is a future problem.

What kind of part are you having replaced?

Normally a fan or fan blade is fairly easy to find a replacement aftermarket.

The circuit boards are a little more difficult to find aftermarket, unless there is a large enough demand for them. Then a company like Dinosaur might start to build something if the OEM stopped making the boards.

I'll have to look for the bill / receipt. I paid for the part and labor with my credit card and will be reimbursed under warrantee the part should be on the bill. When I tried to turn on the A/C I got this umping sound as if the motor was trying to turn the compressor but it was stuck. I believe the tech said he tried to get it to spin but it was stuck. The new part is in PA waiting for meTomorrow I sign the paperwork to complete the sale of the house then a couple days to take care of last minute detailed and I will be headed to Camping world in hanover PA to get the A/C I am going to try to post the info on the receipt before I turn in fot tonight
