Champion 3100 idle

I just bought a new 3100 and have a question for the guys and gals that have one. Please just people that have the 3100 not a Honda or genrac or others please i already have experience with those.
My question is when it is in Eco mode and idling it has a very slight rev or idle's with a pulse like idle. Kind of hard to explain. Is this how they run? It is not dramatic by any means but I wanted to know if it should do this. My Honda would do this when it needed cleaning but much worse. But this is new It was a floor model but never ran just a display. So hoping someone with experience can help.

So the carb arrived as promised today. This was a easy fix. Open two panels pull inverter out of the way. Pull air filter housing and pull the carb out. Then reverse process back together. Now all back together and she runs like a champ. No surging just a quiet purr. Once again Champion customer service is top notch.

Update
I contacted customer service and they are overnight a new carburetor to me. This was a floor model that sat for a long time, and could have had residual gas from factory in carburetor. So far I am very happy with the way they handle any concerns i have had. I will update tomorrow after i install new carb.

I had that issue with the 2000i.

The "tech" at the service center where i bought it could not find an issue.

I took the carb apart and cleaned it. Did not visually find anything. Put it back together and walla all is well.

How proficient are you about taking the carburetor off and taking the main, pilot and idle jets out for an examination and cleaning? I went through this exercise with my brothers Champion 3100 which was surging at idle in a fairly pronounced fashion. I chatted with customer service three times and they were very decent to deal with. The ended up sending us a brand new carb which i swapped out for the old one. The unit ran spot on after changing out the carb. I would call Champion and see what they want to do. The 3100 is a fantastic generator.

I have this generator, and no surging at idle. I agree with the prior poster that it sound like something is up with the carb. How long have you owned this generator? How often do you run it? How old is the gas that is in it? You could first try running a strong dose of seafoam to see if it can clean out the problem. Champion does recommend 30 minutes of running every 30 days to keep things fresh. If this is the first time you have run it, I'd put a fair amount of fuel in it, plug it into something that will generate a load(maybe your TT with the A/C on), and let it run for a few hours as break in.

I had a different issue, but can certainly attest to the fact that they have great customer service. I will also add that they have a network of supporting dealers for repairs that they don't mention on their website. They were able to refer me to a repair shop in my area who did my warranty repairs.

I've heard of this issue (surging idle) on these models, but I have also heard Champion is good about making it right, contact them at the number ulvik posted.

EDIT: I should note, I don't own one, just been heavily researching these models, I think I have finally settled on it for my next purchase lol.

Contact Champion. They have a great customer service! 1-877-338-0999 Sounds to me you have a carburetor issue.

Is this while loaded (plugged into and powering something)? Sorry, don't own one, but might be important.
