Dexter e-z lube axles

Hello I would like to know if any one out there has the Dexter E-Z lube axles and have grease your wheel bearing by using this method? I just found out after 5 years of owning this 5th wheel that I can lube the wheel bearing from the axle were there is a grease zerk fitting installed. I just when on you tube and watch as they grease the bearing. I was wonding if the inner wheel seal will stop the grease from going into the brake drum and onto the brake shoe's. I would love to hear from any one that has grease their wheel bearing using the Dexter E-Z lube system to let me know if the seal kept the grease from going through to the drums. Be sure they actually do it that way. Often the shop will just use the zerk, and charge for the repack. I suggest watching them.

Five years is a decent amount of time between bearing services. Now you'll be good for another 5 years. I did mine after 7 years, all was good, so I'll do it again in a few years.

Used carefully, they can work as advertised. Do it wrong, and you'll end up with a mess. A lot of people like to check the condition of the brakes and bearings anyway, and don't trust the cheap seals used by the manufacturers, so they just repack by hand.

Read the posts but I would hand pack them and replace the seals after a very close bearing inspection. If they were on a smaller axle without brakes grease all you want.

Those that have a lot of years with them, avoid them as they are as likely to put grease on the brakes as the bearings.
